Cycling in Leek
Leek is ideally placed for all kinds of cycling, flat trails along converted railway tracks (Rudyard Lake, The Manifold Valley), exploring the Staffordshire Moorlands many picturesque lanes and trails and the more challenging roads of the Peak District.
Leek Cyclists’ Club is the 3rd oldest cycling club in the country, founded in 1876, and still going strong. They hold rides on Monday evening through the summer for all abilities and a longer ride on Sundays, leaving from Den Engel Belgian Bar on Stanley Street, Leek, ST13 5HG.
You don’t have to be super fit to enjoy cycling in the Staffordshire Peak District. Whatever your age or ability, there’s a route to suit – everything from traffic-free former railway routes to challenging, off-road upland trails.
