10th annual Peak District Walking Festival begins soon!

Television presenter Julia Bradbury is encouraging walkers of all ages and abilities to get into step for the popular Peak District Walking Festival.

Julia – who is President of both The Camping and Caravanning Club and Friends of the Peak District – has pledged her support to persuade visitors and residents to explore of the area’s most stunning and specially-protected landscapes. Julia

More than 100 events – ranging from easy one-mile village trails to longer, more demanding routes across rugged countryside – will be staged between April 26 and May 11, many of the events will take place in the Staffordshire Peak District.

“It’s especially significant to me that the Festival’s taking place in the Peak District, which I consider to be ‘home ground’,” said Julia. “My father was born here, and I’ve been enjoying walking in this beautiful area since I was six years old.”

Bookings can now be made for a wide variety of guided walks – many on themes as diverse as aircraft wrecks, industrial heritage, photography and wildlife, plus relaxing strolls taking in cream teas and real ales.  Visit Peak District has a full list of events taking place in the festival.
