Staffordshire Oatcakes

The North Staffordshire oatcake is a culinary delicacy that until recently, was almost entirely unknown outside of the area.

Oatcake Shop in Leek

Hundreds of thousands of these delicious delicacies are made each year, many from closely-guarded family secrets, and Leek people love them.

oatcakes

Sadly nowadays there are very few traditional oatcake shops left still cooking using traditional methods, and giving that authentic taste, but there is still one in Leek!  I think they are best eaten with bacon and cheese inside but why not decide for yourself?  At Leek Oatcake Shop you can be sure of a tasty, delicious oatcake as fresh as they come.  And how fresh is fresh?  Well, how about standing in the serving area and watching the oatcakes for the day being made in front of you – the magical (and top secret) recipe mix is ladled onto the two hot places, left a minor or so to cook and then flipped – hot, fresh deee-licious oatcakes!
